Terms and conditions

Brookweald CC World Cup Predictor 2026. By entering, you agree to these Terms.

1. Organiser

1.1 The competition is operated by Brookweald CC ("the Club") as a club fundraiser. 1.2 Operational contact: Rob Harvey, via the club's normal communication channels.

2. Nature of the competition

2.1 This is a skill-based prize competition. It is not a lottery or sweepstake. Outcomes depend on entrants correctly predicting the results of football matches at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 2.2 Entry is voluntary, and entering constitutes acceptance of these Terms.

3. Eligibility

3.1 Open to anyone aged 18 or over. 3.2 Open to Brookweald CC members and their family and friends. 3.3 One account per person. Multiple entries from the same individual will be disqualified. 3.4 Brookweald CC committee members may enter on the same terms as all other entrants.

4. Entry

4.1 The entry fee is £10 per entrant, in pounds sterling. 4.2 Entry is via the official site at bwcc-predictor.uk. Entrants must sign in with a valid email address and pay by card. Payment is processed by Stripe. 4.3 The Club does not see, store, or process card details. Card data is handled solely by Stripe under their own terms of service. 4.4 Entries close at kick off of the opening match of the 2026 FIFA World Cup on 11 June 2026.

5. Minimum entries

5.1 The competition will run subject to a minimum of 30 paid entrants by 10 June 2026. 5.2 If the minimum is not met, the competition will not take place. All entry fees will be refunded in full to the original payment method, automatically through Stripe. No deduction will be made by the Club.

6. Prize pot and distribution

6.1 The total prize pot is fixed at 50% of total entry fees received. The remaining 50% is retained by Brookweald CC for club purposes. 6.2 There is no fixed prize amount. The prize pot scales directly with the number of paid entrants. 6.3 The prize pot is distributed between the top three positions on the final leaderboard:

  • 1st place: 60% of the prize pot
  • 2nd place: 25% of the prize pot
  • 3rd place: 15% of the prize pot

7. Predictions, locks and scoring

7.1 Entrants submit a predicted full-time score for each of the 104 matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. 7.2 Predictions for any match must be submitted before the kick off of that match. Predictions cannot be submitted or amended after kick off. Any match for which no prediction has been submitted scores zero. 7.3 Entrants may also complete a bonus slip covering five tournament-level outcomes. The bonus slip locks at the opening kick off of the tournament and cannot be amended afterwards. 7.4 Match scoring: 5 points for an exact scoreline, 3 points for the correct result, 0 points otherwise. The full-time score at the end of normal play is used. Extra time and penalties do not count towards the predicted score for knockout matches. 7.5 Bonus slip scoring is published on the How to play page and applied at the conclusion of the tournament. 7.6 The Club, acting through its administrator, may correct a match result on the platform if the data feed is found to be incorrect.

8. Leaderboard and final standings

8.1 A live leaderboard updates approximately every 30 minutes during the tournament. 8.2 Final standings are determined at the conclusion of the final. 8.3 Tie-breakers, in order: number of exact-score predictions, then total bonus slip points. Where ties remain, the prize money for the affected positions is divided equally between the joint winners.

9. Prize payment

9.1 Winners will be contacted by email within seven days of the conclusion of the final. 9.2 Prizes are paid by UK bank transfer in pounds sterling. 9.3 Winners must respond with bank details within 30 days of being contacted. Prizes unclaimed after 30 days revert to the Club.

10. Conduct

10.1 Entrants must not use multiple accounts, automated tools, or any submission method other than the platform's normal interface. 10.2 Breach of these Terms entitles the Club to disqualify the entrant, void their predictions, and forfeit their entry fee.

11. Cancellation or curtailment

11.1 If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled, postponed, or curtailed such that the competition cannot reasonably be completed, the Club will, at its sole discretion, either:

  • run a curtailed version of the competition with the published rules applied to those matches that did take place, or
  • refund all entry fees in full and treat the competition as void.

12. Data protection

12.1 The Club processes entrants' email addresses and chosen display names solely for the purposes of operating the competition. 12.2 Card data is processed by Stripe. The Club does not access or store payment information. 12.3 Entry and prediction data is retained for the duration of the competition plus 12 months thereafter for reconciliation purposes.

13. Liability

13.1 To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Club's liability to any entrant in connection with the competition is limited to the value of that entrant's entry fee. 13.2 The Club is not responsible for any loss arising from technical issues with third-party services (including Stripe, Supabase, Vercel, or the football data provider) outside the Club's reasonable control.

14. Disputes and governing law

14.1 The Club's decision on all matters relating to the competition is final. 14.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

15. Changes to these Terms

15.1 The Club may amend these Terms to clarify wording or correct errors, with notice posted on the site. Material changes after entries close will not affect entrants without their consent or a refund offer.
